An investigation is underway after a woman says she shot and killed her ex-boyfriend during a fight inside her home in southeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said upon arrival, officers found the man lying on the living room floor with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased male, 73, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
During the investigation, the shooter told officers that the man was her ex-boyfriend and that he came into her house and they got into a physical fight. Reportedly, fearing for her safety, she allegedly grabbed a gun and fired it at him. The case was presented to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, who determined it would be presented to a grand jury for review.
