A stranger followed a 21-year-old woman into an Upper West Side building and then raped her in a stairwell while threatening to “kill her if she didn’t comply,” police said Sunday.
The man followed the young woman into the building near West 65th Street and West End Avenue around 1:20 a.m. Saturday, cops said.“He basically made threats to her that he was going to kill her if she didn’t comply,” a police spokesman said.
The man can be seen taking off his jacket and tossing it over a fence in a video released by police. He fled on foot.The suspect is described as a male, 5’8” in height, approximately 150 lbs., and believed to be in his 30’s. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray sweatshirt, and black pants.
