Reanne Anad was warned to look out for cancer by her sister, Libi Almuzian, after Libi did research on the disease.
A young woman was found to have cancer - after her sister discovered a tell tale sign while studying at a Scots university. Libi Almuzian made the discovery while studying in the capital.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live, Libi, from Edinburgh, has said that while working within her role as a specialist in dentistry, she makes it her duty to warn parents of this symptom if she spots children with missing teeth. "I found that when you take a population of people that have had cancer and see how many of them are missing teeth, it's much higher than when you take a group of people that have not had cancer and see if they have any missing teeth.
"It was then in 2022 that she phoned me and told me that she had found a lump in her breast. It honestly came out of nowhere. She went for a scan and they immediately did an ultrasound. She said: "What 20 something year old thinks that they should be checking themselves for cancer? I eat a healthy diet and I exercise. I honestly would never have thought that anything about it.
