Cerys Rees' family are desperate to fly her home for treatment
A woman is fighting for her life in a hospital in Turkey after she had a seizure while on holiday alone, her family has said.
Her family revealed she made a promise to her husband before he died that she would scatter his ashes in every country she visited.Earlier in July, as she continued to have seizures in hospital, her family started a GoFundme to pay for her care and her return to the UK. Cerys' condition, however, worsened and on July 22, friends who flew out to Turkey to support her found she had been intubated and put on life support.
Cerys, from Pontypridd, Wales, had scattered some of her husband's ashes in Turkey following a promise she made to do this in every country she visited, reports Wales Online. Doctors have authorised Cerys’ transfer to the UK via air ambulance, which Rhianna says has been recommended for her care. But Cerys’ family are still going back-and-forth with their insurance company over its claim that Cerys had not disclosed a pre-existing epilepsy diagnosis, something the family deny as they say she was never diagnosed.
