Police said the woman was 'in fear' and shot through the wall of her house, striking the man in the torso.
Department confirmed the shooting in a tweet shared on Saturday, which read:"North officers are at a shooting scene 8900 Irvington. Adult male deceased at the scene, 202."Police said the woman inside the home claimed to have been frightened when she saw the man looking through her bedroom window.
She claimed to have felt in danger, took her rifle and then fired several shots through the wall in self-defense. Officers said at least one struck the man in the torso and that he staggered a short distance before he died outside in the driveway outside the homeSpeaking to KTRK, Lieutenant R. Willkens said:"There was an adult female who was in one of the bedrooms and observed him looking in her windows. She was in fear. She had a rifle. She shot numerous times through the wall [and] ended up striking the male.Houston police have since launched an investigation into the shooting.
In a statement shared in June, the governor's office said:"House Bill 1927 authorizes Constitutional Carry in Texas, meaning law-abiding Texans can legally carry a handgun without a license to carry."
