UK workers are facing the biggest real-terms increase in income tax in three decades this month, experts have warned.and inflation will combine this week to leave families facing the largest squeeze since the early 90s, according to a leading economic think tank.
Traditionally, income tax and national insurance thresholds, which dictate when we start paying income and at what rate, go up in line with inflation on 6 April., however, after a decision by Mr Sunak – which he made while chancellor – to keep them in stasis until 2028.
