The top reason why people quit their jobs is for higher pay, according to a new survey by Payscale.

With wages increasing for nine consecutive months, workers now have a better chance of landing a higher paying job after quitting. Average hourly earnings have gone up 3.2% over the past year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Indeed, the number of job openings rose to 7.5 million as of March, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics – and there are now 1.2 million more open jobs than there are unemployed Americans, which suggests businesses will have to increase wages to attract and retain the workers they need.
