A man driving a white sedan entered the north lanes of the 2000 block of North Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive heading south, striking a silver sedan head-on, Chicago police said.

A man driving a white sedan entered the north lanes of the 2000 block of North Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive heading south, authorities said. His sedan struck a silver sedan head-on, around 2:20 a.m.Both vehicles were driven by men who each suffered blunt force trauma as a result of the collision, police said. Paramedics from the Chicago Fire Department took the driver of the white sedan to Illinois Masonic Hospital in critical condition, where he later was pronounced dead.
The driver of the silver sedan, whose vehicle caught fire, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 2:33 a.m., officials said.The collision remains under investigation by the Major Accidents unit, according to police.
