While there are many issues to parse after the colossal, nearly $70 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, far and away there’s really only one thing gamers want to know: Does this deal mean Activision Blizzard games like Call of Duty are going to be Xbox exclusive going forward?

open to interpretation. This could mean anything from the idea that all these series will stay multiplatform forever, to simply “no, we’re not shutting off PlayStation Vanguard servers when the deal is closed,” and everything else is fair game. So no clear answers from Microsoft itself yet.

Bethesda probably can be used as the model here. Microsoft didn’t shut off PlayStation access to say, Fallout 76, once they bought the developer. And I can see that being the case for already-released Call of Duty games or potentially even Warzone, which has long been available on PlayStation.
