The Yankees created a roster spot during Thursday’s off day by optioning rookie starter Randy Vasquez to Triple-A. The Yankees also finally announced a starting pitcher for Friday night’s series opener against Boston. They opted to go with rookie Jhony Brito over using the righty behind an opener for the second time in six days.
