Man's sex offence costs him his teaching career as he is banned from classrooms for life
A teacher from Yorkshire has been struck off after he admitted inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity in an incident 10 years ago.
Mr Barraclough appeared at Leeds Crown Court in January last year where he admitted the offence of causing/inciting a girl to engage in sexual activity, according to a report from the Teaching Regulation Agency published this week.A panel of the Teaching Regulation Agency was told that Mr Barraclough was sentenced to 21 months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years and told to carry out unpaid work for 100 hours.
The panel took into consideration mitigating factors. The report added: "The panel noted the sentencing remarks submitted as part of the bundle which outlined a number of mitigating factors taken into consideration at the sentencing stage.
