Douglas Elliman is marketing a small community of luxury 3D printed houses, called Sunday Homes, planned by builder ICON in Marfa, Texas in the new future site for El Cosmico hotel.Imagine buying a nearly $1 million home with views of the majestic Davis Mountains in West Texas — but instead of a standard luxury home construction your walls are 3D printed.
Sales kickstarted this week for the luxury community, called Sunday Homes, which will feature 30 to 40 houses constructed using ICON’s 3D printing technology, according to real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman, which is marketing the houses.Lambert is relocating the El Cosmico complex from its 21-acre site to 60 acres \north of Marfa, near Vizcaino Park. The expanded hotel will be made possible by using large-scale 3D-printed domes, arches, vaults and parabolic forms.
ICON and Lambert previously had said there would be housing within the complex — including affordable housing. It wasn’t immediately clear if there are still plans to incorporate affordable housing in the complex, but the houses announced this week appeal to a wealthier audience.
