Linfield could be 15 points ahead of Larne before the champions begin their Premiership season
Chris Shields believes Larne are the only team who can answer if their delayed start to the Premiership season will have a negative impact on their title defence.
Tiernan Lynch's side booked their place in the league phase of the UEFA Conference League with a superb 4-3 aggregate win over Lincoln Red Imps on Thursday. Asked if building up a lead will have a psychological impact, Shields said: "I don't know, you'd probably have to ask Larne that. For us it was about getting through this block of games which takes us up to the end of August, and our target is to get 15 points. "But our focus solely is on Portadown and ourselves at the minute. This will probably be our toughest task of the month."
