Taylor Swift Just Revealed All the Easter Eggs in Her 'Cardigan' Music Video
Now, Taylor is going through the song and music video herself, breaking down everything for us.
Usually when Taylor Swift releases anything, whether it's a song, music video, or even just a tweet, fans scramble to try to decode every little bit of it. This time, though, Taylor is helping us out. The singer just released a video with Vevo Footnotes,, pointing out every easter egg you may have missed, and trust me, there are a lot.

In the beginning of the video, the footnotes reveal that Taylor wanted the whole thing to have"a clever plot device that also served as a metaphor." Then, just 20 seconds in, we get our first easter egg. The camera shows a picture of a man who just so happens to be Taylor's grandfather Dean. The footnotes state that he landed on the beaches at the Battle of Guadalcanal during World War 2. This isn't Dean's only feature inThe painting next to Dean is also significant.
As Taylor steps into the piano, a clock is seen on the left side of the wall. The footnotes point out that the hands on the clock point to one and three, referencing 13, Taylor's favorite number.Later, Taylor finds herself in a magical forest. According to the footnotes, this represents"the evergreen beginning of a relationship where everything seems magical and full of beauty.
