Re: “Popovich cries foul on book-banning efforts,” Metro, Wednesday:
I call foul on Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. To suggest there are no books that should be kept out of school libraries is crazy. Further, to suggest that parents shouldn’t have a say in what books are made available to their children, inside school or out, is equally crazy. A school board that doesn’t do a periodic review of library book appropriateness is being derelict.
I will never understand the immoral neglect that Texas lawmakers inflict upon the most vulnerable of its citizens while boasting its defense of the “unborn.” We need new leaders to begin to rectify this.I was dumbfounded to read the letter stating that gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke was more appropriately dressed with his rolled-up sleeves while meeting the voting public than Gov. Greg Abbott.
I suggest those who want to know who will do a better job might trouble themselves to compare the work history of the two candidates. I promise, you will be in for a real shock, but your voting decision may be a lot easier.
