The DC Universe is home to a number of unique and amazing characters. Over the last century, artists and writers have contributed heroes and villains to the DCU and made it a truly original world. But not every character that inhabits the DCU originally came from a comic book.
9 Music Meister Batman: The Brave and the Bold introduced a brand-new villain in its first and only musical episode. “Mayhem of the Music Meister!” featured Neil Patrick Harris as the titular bad guy, who easily hypnotized people to do his bidding after hearing him sing. Music Meister appeared in some tie-in material to Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as an episode of CW's The Flash.
6 Red X If there’s one mystery that plagued fans of the Teen Titans animated series, it’s the secret identity of Red X. Originally introduced in the episode “Masks”, Red X was an identity that Robin once used that later became the alter ego of an unknown thief. While the show never revealed who was under the mask, the identity was brought over to the DC Universe in Teen Titans Academy.
3 Renee Montoya Renee Montoya’s introduction into the DC Universe is a bit murky as she technically made her first appearance in the DC Universe in Batman #475 which was released in March 1992. However, she was created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini as part of the cast of Batman: The Animated Series. Montoya’s first televised appearance was in the episode “Pretty Poison” which aired in September 1992.
