Police arrived and found Thomas in the middle of the road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, said Lt. Rod Mauldin. Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service pronounced him dead on the scene at 1:19 a.m. Mauldin said details of what lead to the deadly shooting are limited.
