Celtic made nine new signings this summer, but some questions still remain over Brendan Rodgers squad after the window slammed shut.

Defensive midfielder Aaron Mooy surprised a few by retiring after his Treble success and Celtic may not have fully filled that void. Kwon from Busan IPark is an unknown quantity, while Paulo Bernardo admitted he likes to attack and get further up the pitch. Could that mean Callum McGregor now takes something of a reduced role and drops deeper under Rodgers?
The Hoops are going to need to be ruthless as they were under Ange Postecoglou, with the likes of Luis Palma, Liel Abada and Daizen Maeda expected to chip in with goals. Rodgers said this week: “I think every manager will tell you by the window they always wish they could have done more in certain aspects. For us there was the question of can we improve the depth of the squad knowing some players were going to maybe want to move on? Then there’s the unexpected in terms of Jota and Carl Starfelt. That’s what you’re always looking to balance in the window but I think it’s an ongoing situation here.
