Two people have sustained injuries that police currently believe to be life-threatening
Police have issued a statement about the collision, saying two people have been arrested following the collision this morning. Two people suffered life-threatening injuries. The statement says: Two cars - a Ford Fiesta and a BMW - were involved in the collision, which took place around 1.45am today on the A453 outside Nottingham Trent University ’s Clifton campus.
Following inquiries officers arrested a 50-year-old man on suspicion of dangerous driving and a 19-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drink driving.Drivers are advised to avoid this area, with closures predicted to remain in place for several hours. Sergeant Steve Waft, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Roads Policing Unit, said: “I appreciate the disruption that this incident will have caused, and I want to reassure motorists that we are working hard to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.
