A Benidorm local has shared a video on social media warning tourists to avoid a certain area in the holiday hotspot if they don't want to be pickpocketed
Thousands of Brits flock to the sandy beaches of Benidorm for their holidays, drawn by the high temperatures and affordable beverages.
In his video, he drives past the indoor market and Mariano's, a 24-hour food store, before moving onto the area opposite the Flash Hotel. Frank pointed out: "Just before we hit the strip, there's a little police building. I'm going to show you here with a little playground next to it." They claimed that this area, particularly the corner near the small playground, is a "hotspot" for muggings, despite being located right on top of the strip. Frank usually celebrates Benidorm in all its glory - promoting everything from the hotels to the parties and weather updates to potential visitors.
Since the video went live, it has racked up hundreds of views, and prompted swift reactions from viewers. Some shared their own unfortunate experiences of crime in the same location.
