Bobby Madden has delivered his expert view on the big VAR moments making the headlines of late including games and decisions involving Premiership sides.
St Mirren penalty claim away at Ross County "I watched the game live. There was talk of a potential foul that would have been a penalty kick and obviously the handball which was identified. What I would say is it would be highly challenging for any match official to identify that contact live. But then it is the responsibility of VAR to identify that contact.
"I will always have sympathy, I will. I was 20 years in the game. When you are called for an on field review, you see that on the monitor the referee in my opinion says 'I've seen contact there it is there. 'You need to be able to remove yourself from that and say 'Yes there is contact but it is absolutely not a penalty kick' then have the bravery to then go change the decision.
"I think when Casey makes the challenge that extension of the sole of his boot comes up. For me that is a natural movement. But the pace in that challenge contacting the shin of the opponent is dangerous."
