The discovery of the actual function of the switch located beneath the armrest of train seats has left many Brits astounded as people shared the reason over on Reddit
Despite many of us relying heavily on train travel, it appears there are still some lesser-known features that remain a mystery to most.
Posting an image of the elusive switch on Reddit, the curious social media user asked: "Does anyone know what this switch is for?" Although there were numerous wild hypotheses, the majority reached a surprisingly straightforward consensus. A sentiment echoed by another who said: "Reading lights. In all but one of the trains that I have been on, the bulbs have been blown. Look above you in the air-con vents and you will see the sockets."
