Have you tried this?
In 1999, my dad and I memorized how to make chocolate chip cookies in case Y2K actually happened.cookie-less
memorize the recipe and still have it memorized to this day. In fact, when people ask, “What’s your favorite thing to make?” , I always say: chocolate chip cookies. After many years of sweet successes and admitted failures, I came up with my own “perfect cookie combo” based on the classic recipe. Though, after so many adjustments, it’s arguably become a new recipe of its own. In my cookies, I use milk and dark chocolate chips, some heartily ground oats, whole-wheat flour, and a big pinch of coarse salt, plus a little more for sprinkling on top.
I had to make a few adjustments to accommodate for the extra liquid. I started by adding some more flour. Since the acidity in the buttermilk would naturally help the cookies rise and help bind the dough, I decreased the amount of eggs to one. I also chilled the dough before baking. And, inspired by a recent trip to Levain Bakery, I decided to make these cookies really, really LARGE.

Roasted Tomato Jam Recipe on Food52This recipe was inspired by the following conversation on Hotline about whether or not you can make jam by roasting it in the oven: http://food52.com/hotline/21260-has-anyone-ever-made-preserves-a-dutch-oven-in-the-oven No stirring? No mess on your stove? No worrying about burning the preserves if you walk away from the stove for a few minutes? I had to try it! Roasting jam delivered on its promises -- I layered sliced tomatoes with sugar and spices in a round braising pan, and let the oven do the rest of the work. I checked on the jam a few times but with the even heat of the oven, there was never any worry that the jam would stick to the pan base. And the edges of the tomatoes on top caramelized a bit. What more could I ask for? Next up: peaches!

Balsamic Chicken Sandwich with Peach Jam and Brandied Onions Recipe on Food52This recipe is based on a longing for a Thanksgiving leftovers sandwich. I wanted to use ingredients that represented the summer season, while still embodying homey deliciousness. Luckily, this recipe fulfilled my expectations! The chicken, jam, and onions can be made ahead and eaten cold or at room temperature. My main recommendation is that you eat the sandwich with a cold summer beer.

Spicier Curry Chicken Salad Recipe on Food52My curried chicken salad is much spicier, thanks to a heaping tablespoon of curry powder and a pinch of cayenne pepper (but adjust according to the spiciness of your curry powder). Lots of crunchy celery goes in (because I love celery), along with halved red grapes for sweetness. To serve, I love to make sandwiches to take to work (or to the park), or I'll pack it in single-serving plastic containers to eat throughout the week in Gem Lettuce cups or just simply on a plate with diced avocado. Whichever way you slice it, it's a pretty darn good solo lunch.

Parmesan-Crusted Chicken, Caponata, and Pesto Sandwich Recipe on Food52This sandwich is substantial, an entire meal all in one sandwich. I used chicken tenders that I fried with a Parmesan panko crust and my family recipe for caponata (for this sandwich I used the caponata as a condiment). I slathered good bread with pesto and grilled it. The sum of all these parts is delicious. Enjoy! You can make your own caponata like I did or buy it already prepared.
