Gov. Newsom says nearly 12,000 lightning strikes hit the state over a 72-hour period and close to 560 fires are burning across California.

Two state prison facilities are near the LNU fire, but the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said evacuation orders did not impact them yet.
