The actor from North Belfast opened up on his upbringing and love for the people of Ireland
Ciarán Hinds has said he feels "lucky" to have avoided getting involved in violence growing up in Belfast during The Troubles.
While he was growing up, Hinds was involved in Irish dancing at the Patricia Mulholland Dancing School, recalling that the school was a way of getting to know people from all areas of the city. He met his childhood best friend, a young Protestant from Larne, through his involvement in dancing. Bronagh Hinds then went on to become a leading figure in the Women's Coalition, which was influential to the negotiations leading to the signing of the Good Friday Agreement in 1998.
