Concord is dead on arrival and disappointing open beta numbers prove it.
Concord’s open beta just launched and it’s already bombed. With just 1,100 people playing it on Steam, it doesn’t look that great for PlayStation’s new live-service hero shooter. With data provided by SteamCharts, the open beta peaked at 2,300 players last night. Its trajectory looks like it’s going to be headed on the up, though I can’t imagine it’s going to break any devastating figures.
When Concord does launch with its AAA price-tag, I can imagine it’s going to be even more disappointing for PlayStation. Players have noted that “this game is ROUGH on PC,” while others have brought up the fact that “matches are over before they even start.” We’re in the midst of working on our preview of the game, which we will have with you before the open beta is finished. Dungeonborne launched today, entirely for free, and is currently sitting at 30,000 players on Steam.
