Daniel Farke can still see strange results emerging between now and the end of the Championship season for Leeds United's rivals
Failing to win on Monday night would not have ruled Leeds United out of the automatic promotion picture because of the crazy results still to come before May 5. That’s the view of Daniel Farke , who still feels there could be slip-ups for Leicester City and Ipswich Town before this race is run.
However, when asked whether a draw or loss would have spelled the end for their top-two hopes, Farke did not feel that way. He still sees the possibility of their nearest rivals dropping points in surprising games before 2.30pm on May 4.“It was an important game,” he said. “I never give up hope in this league, but also in football. As long as there is a chance with a few games to go, I will always go for it.
“Without them, it would be much more difficult to put pressure on the top two, so it was important. We’re back in the top two and it was important we won.” On the final day, Leeds host Southampton, Leicester host Blackburn Rovers and Ipswich host Huddersfield Town.
