Jardine and Stafford placed the allegations in court documents after they had hired a private investigator. They said in the documents that the investigator followed the judge and recorded video of her visiting with Dottore, having dinner with him and kissing him goodbye. Kennedy noted that Celebrezze admitted in the response that she often assigns cases to herself after other judges recuse themselves. The judge, who as administrative judge has fewer cases assigned to her than the court’s other four judges, said that it is a way to keep more complex and time-consuming cases off the dockets of the busier judges and to avoid the need to appoint a visiting judge.
