Paul Cattermole died of heart-related issues, his death certificate has shown.
Cattermole and the other S Club members had been preparing to tour together to mark their 25th anniversary when the star died, and member Hannah Spearitt, who Cattermole was romantically linked to in the past, has confirmed she will not be taking part.with the Dorset Coroner’s Office announcing the news earlier in May.A copy of the report, seen by
, lists his cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia, acute myocardial ischemia and severe coronary artery atheroma and intraplaque haemorrhage.Arrhythmia relates to a problem with a person’s heartbeat which can make it difficult to pump blood around the body, while myocardial ischemia is when reduced blood flow stops the heart from getting enough oxygen.
Reduced blood flow can happen with blocked arteries, which often occurs with atheroma, a plaque that builds up inside arteries. Cattermole’s death sent shockwaves around the industry, with his heartbroken bandmates releasing an emotional statement as the news broke. ‘We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul,’ they said in a message shared on social media.They continued: ‘We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.‘He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us.Cattermole was a part of S Club 7 when the group first formed in 1998, joining fellow members Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee, Bradley McIntosh, Tina Barrett and Spearitt.
