A Denver man has pleaded guilty to 10 armed bank robberies throughout the Denver area.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado announced that Jerome Bravo pleaded guilty to 10 counts of bank robbery and three counts of wielding a firearm during the robberies.
Bravo’s first robbery was on Jan. 6, 2021, where he brandished a black handgun and told the bank teller, “Don’t move, I’m going to shoot you,” according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office. According to the release, after the initial robbery, he was accompanied by Jonathan Gullete , who helped carry out multiple robberies in Denver, Aurora, and Arvada until March 31, 2021.
On Feb. 8, the men carried out two bank robberies, where they jumped over both counters and threatened the bank tellers, the release states. On Feb. 18, they entered a bank yelling, “get down,” and warning that they weren’t “playing.” The men also threatened to shoot the occupants of the bank, according to the release. Bravo jumped behind the counter and physically took the cash drawers.
Officials say Bravo, a 39-year-old Denver resident, and Gullete, a 24-year-old from Aurora, robbed seven Denver banks, two in Aurora and one in Arvada. Bravo’s sentencing is set for Feb. 21, and Gullete’s trial is scheduled on Feb. 27.
