Police are searching for the driver of a silver Citreon DS3 Crossback who failed to stop after striking the dog, who was crossing the road on Strathaven Road, Stonehouse around 2.35pm on Friday, May 3.
A dog was hit by a car in South Lanarkshire after a driver ran a red light at a pedestrian crossing before fleeing the scene.

"Around 2.35pm on Friday, 3 May, 2024 a silver Citreon DS3 Crossback ran a red light on Strathaven Road, striking a dog which was crossing the road with it’s owner at the time. The driver failed to stop at the scene and the dog was not injured. "Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the vehicle to come forward. They are also appealing for any other motorists with possible dashcam footage or anyone with information that may help with our investigation to contact police."
