Pictures have emerged of dolphins frolicking in the old Grove Leisure Centre in North Belfast, bringing back memories of a show that took place in the late 1970s or early 1980s. The pictures, which were hanging up in the swim coaches’ office, are now being shared online.
Dolphins frolicking in a Belfast swimming pool is not something we expect to see but as this snap shows, that is exactly what happened at the old Grove Leisure Centre in North Belfast . Pictures have emerged of a show which took over the leisure centre some years ago and it has brought back some great memories for people. It is believed the show took place in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
The pictures had been hanging up in the swim coaches’ office of the old Grove Leisure Centre and were brought across to the new Grove Wellbeing Centre. Now they are being shared online to remind locals of the quirky event
