The diet and good living expert Dr Michael Mosley has boiled down all his advice to his top three tips. Dr Mosley has recently released the paperback edition of his Just One Thing book which contains more than 30 individual tips to lose weight and live healthily.

Good for muscles, but also for your brain. Eating more oily fish. I used to hate fish but my wife, Clare, created delicious recipes and I am a convert. Omega 3 is very good for heart and brain.”

Dr Mosley said to the Mumsnet audience: “If you have raised blood sugars, blood pressure or just want to lose weight fast, then yes, sticking to between 800-900 calories a day for a few weeks can be very beneficial.
