For millions of people in the UK, simple tasks like getting out of bed in the morning and putting on clothes can trigger a sharp stabbing pain and spasms, making ordinary life extremely difficult for many people living with a form of muscle or joint pain. While relatively common, many people living with this pain day-to-day are unaware that they could qualify for Personal Independence Payments .
Arthritis is a general term that refers to many of these different conditions, however, some common conditions include osteoarthritis, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, gout, polymyalgia rheumatica, lupus and ankylosing spondylitis, are also covered by PIP, reports the Daily Record. The new DWP figures also showed that there are now 3.5 million people in Scotland, England and Wales claiming PIP.
