Anglian Water says Rutland Water Beach will not reopen until Thursday - when rain is forecast
A popular man-made beach will be closed for two days after a water company coincidentally planned works on one of the hottest days of the year. Sykes Lane Beach at Rutland Water will not be open on Tuesday, July 30 or Wednesday, July 31.
A social media post from Rutland Water said: "Sykes Lane Beach is closed today and tomorrow. This means there is no access to the beach. Mini golf, the café, visitor centre and playground remain open. If you are looking to cool off in the heat please head to the watersports centre at Whitwell who have some great deals on Kayak and SUP hire."
