An EncroChat dealer "Tubbyfern" and his dad were part of a £4m cocaine plot which flooded drugs into Liverpool.
Three other men, Ricky Lee, 31, Christopher Gresty, 56, and his son Louis Gresty, 25, all from Salford, were jailed last December for their roles in the crime racket. The operation was smashed by Greater Manchester Police as part of Operation Venetic, the force's initiative to mine incriminating data hacked by law enforcement from EncroChat's servers in northern France in April 2020.
Officers found the Peers' owned several houses on North Lane in Astley and in the surrounding area. The pair, both of North Lane, were sentenced for their role in the conspiracy at Bolton Crown Court last Thursday . Anthony Peers Snr was locked up for four years and six months. Lee used his ill-gotten gains to pay for IVF treatment, holding a 'gender reveal' party during lockdown. In video seized by police, Lee is even captured counting a pile of cash and saying: "What d'you reckon that is? Half a day's work!?"
