Green algae can be a gardener's worst nightmare, particularly when it clings to wooden surfaces in the garden.
A representative from GardenBuildingsDirect.co.uk shared some wisdom. They said: "Removing algae from sheds, fences, and garden furniture is essential for prolonging the lifespan of these structures and keeping them looking good." With their advice, they said: "Start first by brushing off algae with a soft bristled brush or a broom. Don't use one with hard bristles - this could damage the wood.
In a 2022 video, she advised: "If the fence is relatively sturdy, use a pressure washer, but just don't make the pressure too high. If not, scrubbing brush and a hose."
