Football: Cedar Creek survives scare against Salem in Rumble on the Raritan (PHOTOS)
Cedar Creek went into the game without wide receiver Darius Benjamin and had to remove Alim Parks and Justin Castillo at the end of the first half due to injuries.
Cedar Creek got off to a roaring start as it went into halftime up 20-0 with touchdowns from Jahmir Campfield, Parks, and Aamir Dunbar. However, Salem cut it to a one-score game early in the fourth quarter and was 14 yards away from tying it if not for a fourth down stop from Cedar Creek with 6:49 to go.
Salem got another chance to tie or take the lead with 1:28 remaining but Cedar Creek’s defense stepped up once again as Gyan King made a game-sealing interception.
