John Hutchinson died after a burglary at his home in Blackpool
Four men have appeared in court charged with the murder of John Hutchinson, who died following a burglary at his home in Blackpool.
David Bond, 33, of Oaklands Avenue, Netherton; Daniel Cunningham, 33, of Tarnbrook Drive in Blackpool; Lee Clarke, 33, of Greenall Court in Prescot; and Darren McCabe, 47, of Warwick Road in Blackpool, are all charged with murder, following Mr Hutchinson's death on April 10. Police attended the house in Scorton Avenue at 6.50am to a report of aggravated burglary. They were told a group of men had entered the house and assaulted the occupant before fleeing.At 9.10pm the same day, North West Ambulance Service went to the house where Mr Hutchinson, 44, was having a suspected heart attack. He was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital but later died.Bond, Cuningham, Clarke and McCabe were arrested and charged with murder.
The Honorary Recorder of Preston, Judge Robert Altham set a date for them to stand trial on October 9, 2023. None of the defendants entered pleas to the charges and they were all remanded in custody.Read the latest from the courts
