France threatens big fines for social-media companies that don’t remove hate-speech posts
France’s National Assembly passed a law Wednesday that threatens fines of up to €1.25 million against companies that fail to remove “manifestly illicit” hate-speech posts—such as incitement to racial hatred or anti-Semitism—within 24 hours of being.
