Gerard Hughes fights Ruadhan Farrell at the SSE Arena on August 3
Gerard Hughes has warned Ruadhan Farrell that he's "in for a shock" if he expects an easy night at the office on August 3. The verbals have already started between the pair as they close in on their grudge rematch at the SSE Arena.
"I haven't really said anything publicly because it is what it is. I had a few injuries and training wasn't great. "Nobody is giving me a chance which is quite funny. Don't get me wrong, people go on about this 'controversial' decision last time out, but it was still a competitive fight," he said. Both men have had fights since their December showdown. Hughes beat Luke Fash back in March at the Ulster Hall, while Farrell out-pointed Connor Kerr on the same bill to become Celtic super-bantamweight champion.
"I don't think the people hurling the abuse watched the full fight, if at all. Boxing is fickle. Once a narrative is put out there, people jump on it.
