A major closure of Interstate 90 at Mercer Island will cause some headaches for drivers trying to get to Seattle next week, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.From 10 a.m. on Sept. 16 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 19, the West Mercer Way on-ramp, the right lane and the bike path will be closed.
From 2 p.m. on Sept. 22 to 10 a.m. on Sept. 23, westbound I-90 will be reduced to one lane west of 76th Avenue Southeast. From 10 a.m. on Sept. 23 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 26, all I-90 lanes westbound beginning just before the floating bridge will be closed. One lane of the West Mercer Way on-ramp will be open for exiting.
During the closures, WSDOT suggests drivers use either I-405 to go around the lake or take the SR 520 bridge.
