GoldenGlobes set dates for 2021 ceremony despite coronavirus uncertainties
The ceremony, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021 — pushed backfrom its annual early January date due to uncertainties from the coronavirus pandemic.
It’s not clear yet if the awards show will be held in person, or if actors will be able to campaign as they normally do by appearing at schmoozy press conferences with HFPA voters — a group of about 90 international journalists. The release calendar for films in contention at the Golden Globes will be over a span of 14 months, from Jan. 1, 2020 through Feb. 28, 2021. The Oscars, currently pushed to April 25, 2021, will similarly include movies that open in January and February for the upcoming awards season.
