HMRC has issued a statement amid claims around 50,000 parents haven't received their child benefit payment which usually comes at the end of each month
Over the weekend, rumours circulated that parents were left without child benefit payments. However, HMRC has released a statement to alleviate these concerns and encouraged individuals to recheck their bank accounts after the weekend.
Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting that thousands of parents had not received their usual end-of-month payment. However, HMRC clarified that the funds were not due until Monday, June 3, or the following day, reports Wales Online. An HMRC spokesperson acknowledged the rumours but stated: "There are no issues with the child benefit system. Although payments can arrive in customers' accounts over the weekend, they aren't actually due until Monday or Tuesday."We suggest customers check their accounts after the weekend." Child benefit is available to those responsible for raising a child under 16, or under 20 if they remain in approved education or training.
