Anthony Stinson claimed he was suffering psychosis when he murdered Blackburn mum Charlotte Wilcock - psychiatrists found otherwise
At 7:53am on March 5, Anthony Stinson borrowed a mobile phone from a member of the public and made a 999 call.
"It's Anthony Stinson. Err... I have basically been suffering from psychosis for about a year now", he said. "Last night I have literally walked past somebody when they was sat at their doorstep and I, um... I thought I seen the devil, so I kicked them in the face and I... I think... I think they might be..... I think I've killed them.
The prosecution said he spent the night concocting his story, claiming he had seen a cartoon of the devil when he happened upon Charlotte. When asked by forensic psychologist Dr Stephen Barlow why he had closed the front door, he replied: "If I was killing the devil I didn't want anyone to see."
