Alix Ferrie, 34, was left with a bill of more than £3000 when her Land Rover was destroyed in a freak blaze – as insurers refused to meet the sum she paid to a dealer just a few months earlier.
Insurers have apologised to a mum over treatment of her claim after a fireball almost killed her children.
The insurance wrangle added to the trauma heaped on Alix, whose kids only survived after golfer John Mackie, 48, smashed a window and helped pull them from the car minutes before it burst into flames. “Ms Ferrie contacted us to complain the valuation of the vehicle on July 26, and our agent agreed to log a complaint regarding this but did not do so.
