, as buyers snapped up homes most prolifically in northwest, west and southwest Bexar County, a booming area., including in the city’s urban core.
Michael Donnelly and his daughter last year moved into a new three-bedroom, two-bathroom house in a KB Home community in the 78253 ZIP code on the far West Side. Also, Donnelly liked the far West Side in particular because he wanted to be closer to the desert and said the climate is somewhat drier. It’s also a relatively short drive from attractions in the city’s urban core.
They worked with Rodeana Reynolds, a real estate agent at RE/MAX North-San Antonio, to sell their home near Loop 1604 and Bitters Road in April. Buyers purchased 37,332 homes last year, down 3.8 percent from a record-breaking 2020, and the median price jumped 14.6 percent year-over-year to a record $286,355.
