Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has reflected on the current situation surrounding Manchester United defender Harry Maguire
Jamie Carragher has admitted he feels "sorry" for Harry Maguire after the Manchester United defender suffered another difficult evening earlier this week.
Backed by Gareth Southgate on the international stage, however, Maguire missed the chance to silence his critics when starring for England after turning an Andy Robertson cross past Aaron Ramsdale and into the Three Lions' net. This moment marked another low point in the career of the 30-year-old, who was taunted by Scottish supporters at the full-time whistle.
Carragher continued: "Hearing all the derision – some of it from my own supporters – made me react in the next game away at Hull City. My default response was anger. ' I don’t give a f*** what anyone thinks anymore,' I thought. I was going to show people they would not walk all over me.
