The region is located on the Portuguese border with flights going to Faro Airport

Jet2holidays has announced East Midlands Airport passengers will be able to fly to the popular Spanish coast of Costa de la Luz from summer 2025. Flights will go directly to Faro Airport from early May through to the end of October 2025, with holidaymakers given the choice of accommodation at four resorts across the Andalusia region, located on the Portuguese border.

There are a range of hotels on offer across the resorts of Punta Umbria, Isla Canela, Isla Cristina and El Rompido. Known for its "golden" beaches, the Costa de la Luz offers a more authentic and cultured Spanish experience, boasting many natural parks, golf courses and historic sites - such as Cadiz and Huelva - for visitors to experience.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2holidays, said: "We are absolutely delighted to be giving customers and independent travel agents the chance to discover an authentic slice of Spain thanks to the launch of Costa de la Luz as a new destination from East Midlands Airport for Summer 25. As a result of this launch, customers can easily reach this stunning region and Spain’s best beaches via Faro Airport.

The news comes as Jet2 has also recently confirmed it will be flying from East Midlands Airport to the ancient Bulgarian seaside town of Sozopol this summer while TUI announced it will be flying to Burgas, Bulgaria, and Boa Vista, Cape Verde, from summer 2025. Passengers also now have the option to fly from EMA to Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

Steve Griffiths, Managing Director at East Midlands Airport, said: "It’s always great to add new destinations and expand the holiday options for our customers. Around half of our customers head to Spain and the Balearics so I have absolutely no doubt this new route with Jet2.com will be hugely popular, giving holidaymakers a fantastic new destination to discover.
