The act was done to draw the King's'attention to 'the horrific scenes on RSPCA Assured farms', an animal rights group saidCampaign group Animal Rising claimed responsibility after two of its supporters covered the monarch’s face with that of Wallace from the British animated comedy franchise.
After the incident, Animal Rising called on the King to withdraw his support for RSPCA, saying an investigation had found animals in 45 RSPCA Assured farms were victims of “awful suffering”.
“Charles has made it clear he is sensitive to the suffering of animals in UK farms; now is the perfect time for him to step up and call on the RSPCA to drop the Assured Scheme and tell the truth about animal farming.”
